About Arborglyph

An Arborglyph is a culturally modified tree. The name derives from the Latin 'arbor' meaning 'tree' and the Greek 'glyph' meaning 'a carving'. They are also variously known as dendroglyphs and silvaglyphs and are present all over the world.

Arborglyph Tree Services was set up in June 2014 by James Newboult. We are based in Branston, Lincolnshire and cover Lincoln and the surrounding areas undertaking all aspects of tree surgery. We also carry out BS3998 tree surveys, ground-based and aerial tree inspections as well as BS5837 surveys for planning applications.

After graduating from Cardiff University with a degree in Archaeology, James worked for 10 years in the heritage industry where he became a project manager and consultant working across the UK. However, his life-long passion for the great outdoors led him to retrain as a arborist and ultimately start his own business. James is a qualified Arborist and holds a Level 4 Diploma in Arboriculture.

Arborglyph exists to carry out high-quality, specialist tree work and consultancy, providing excellent customer service for both commercial and domestic clients. If you have any tree or hedge related issues, please let us know and we will be happy to discuss your needs and provide you with a quote for undertaking the work.
